| Interested in Starting a Workplace United Way/CHAD Campaign? |
Workplace giving is the backbone of the United Way/CHAD Campaign. Tens of thousands of San Diegans use this giving method to make a difference in our community.
The United Way/CHAD Campaign makes it easy and convenient to participate by offering payroll deduction or scheduled credit card donations specifically directed to a donor-selected charity, or to the United Way of San Diego to fund their initiatives.
Research shows most employees feel it is important for companies to provide them with opportunities to become involved in causes, and in turn, it creates a positive environment with a loyal, committed workforce.
For company CEOs, presidents and human resource directors, starting a workplace giving campaign up and running is easy:
Step 1: A United Way campaign staff person will be assigned to your company to keep your investment of resources to a minimum.
Step 2: The United Way staff person will help you identify an energetic and enthusiastic Campaign Coordinator within your company to run the program and recruit a winning team of volunteers to market the campaign to fellow employees. Your campaign can be as simple or elaborate as you desire in order to maximize results. United Way can also create electronic pledge forms for efficient distribution of materials.
Step 3: Show your support. The best campaigns are those in which company leadership leads by example. Many companies make matching contributions to their employee’s gift. Meaningful commitment to causes is highly important to employees. Seventy-two percent of American employees wish their employers would do more to support a cause or social issue.
What’s Next? United Way collects your pledge forms and your payroll specialist will escrow and transfer the donations to United Way on a monthly basis, then the contribution is directed per the donor instructions.
